Stop Wishing, Start Pitching: How to Land Brand Partnerships (Even Without 10k Followers)
I see it every day. Brilliant creatives who have journals filled with ideas but no clue on how brand partnerships actually work (let alone how to get one). The overwhelm hits hardest when you see everyone (and their dog) working with massive names like Nike, Pinterest, and Google. If you’re sitting there thinking you need to go viral or wait until you hit that magical 10k follower count to get noticed, I’m here to tell you that’s a myth. I only have 4.5k followers, and I’ve landed deals that people with 10x my audience are still dreaming about.
Landing a deal isn't about vanity metrics; it’s about a targeted, repeatable brand outreach strategy.
What Does a Successful Pitch Actually Look Like?
Pitching is simply the ability to present your ideas in a way that excites a brand while gaining buy-in from the teams you want to work with. To pitch brands successfully, your proposal needs to hit three specific marks:
Your Authority & Background: Highlight your achievements and why you are the expert creator they need to be working with right now
Clear Brand Fit: If you want to partner with Nike, you have to communicate exactly how you share their values, mission, or customers
The Opportunity: What is the actual project? Is it a walk club? A TikTok series? A workshop? Don't make them guess, show them exactly what the vision looks like and how it will function
