3 ways to monetise your personal brand (Creative Founders edition)
A lot of people think that to make money with brands, you have to have 100k followers and a feed full of Asos hauls. But at Pitch School, we do things differently. I’ve helped my students and clients land 4-figure brand deals with names like LinkedIn and Adobe by focusing on high value, low-lift collaborations that fit into their workflow.
Because the truth is, if you’re reading this, you’re probably not a content creator. You’re a founder that makes high quality content (newsletters, YouTube videos, carousels) and you’re looking for a way to make extra revenue. Here are three ways I’ve personally monetised my personal brand (and how you can, too)
Webinars are cool, just ask Squarespace
If you already post educational content, think about educational partnerships. My 4-day webinar series with Squarespace is the perfect example of a win-win-win. As a founder I want to empower my community with the tools to create the business on their vision board and by partnering with Squarespace I was able to create a 4-day event bring together a range of speakers to share their story of building a personal brand.

Host events in your city (book clubs, run clubs and networking events)
Your physical workspace is a goldmine for brand partnership ideas. My ongoing relationship with Papier started because I actually use their journals daily. By hosting a networking event at their office, I was able to teach my community how I use my journal as a tool for self-discovery and goal setting. Get your audience involved with the collaboration by inviting them to celebrate it with you. The best partnerships feel like a natural fit rather than a poorly timed ad-on.
If you’re a careers content creator, what tools are your go to for time management or writing the perfect CV? Could you pair up with your favourite app and host a CV writing social with fun cocktails and a 10-minute show and tell session at the end? The more fun you have with this, the more authentic the collaboration will feel
Create authentic Content Collaborations
Content partnerships are the OG when it comes to working with brands. My partnership with Lumie worked because mental health and self-care are featured topics within my content. The team gave me lots of creative freedom, so I was able to create a video that felt true to my experience and my voice. There is nothing worst than working with a brand and having to read a script that sounds exactly like reading a script. It’s worth it to advocate for your ideas as the content is more likely to perform better when it’s in your voice than someone else’s
